Nautilus Chain Expands Its Interoperability through LayerZero Integration
LayerZero’s omni-chain capabilities help Nautilus use modularity to speed the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology
We are excited to announce an integration with one of the top cross-chain projects in Web3: LayerZero. LayerZero is one of the most trusted cross-chain messaging protocols and will connect Nautilus to ecosystems and communities across Web3.
This integration with Nautilus is perfectly timed to boost the chain’s burgeoning DeFi ecosystem. In the last few months, Coral Finance and PoseiSwap have deployed on Nautilus, with many more protocols in the pipeline.
These projects are capitalizing on Nautilus’ modular infrastructure, which provides next-generation capabilities. Projects like PoseiSwap hope to use Nautilus scalability and speed to tokenize real-world assets and bring decentralized finance to the real world.
“This integration comes at a perfect time,” said Sam Thapaliya, Founder of Zebec. “We have dozens of projects waiting to launch on Nautilus, and LayerZero will allow them to reach the users and liquidity they need to be successful. Not to mention, they’re simply a great team to work with, operating with an emphasis on modularity and zk that we actually share.”
The teams hope to have LayerZero fully deployed on Nautilus by November 1st, 2023. In the meantime, the team will use Hyperlane as a temporary solution to bring liquidity to Nautilus.
Working Together to Promote Modularity
Both Nautilus and LayerZero use modular architecture to push the boundaries of blockchain technology.
Nautilus uses a modular architecture to create one of the fastest EVM chains in the industry. Nautilus provides unparalleled transaction speeds by enabling parallel processing, even in an EVM environment. Nautilus also gives developers the ability to deploy customized rollups as execution layers so that they have the flexibility they need to create any type of dApp they envision.
Modularity is also at the heart of LayerZero’s design, providing flexibility and security. Safety is a top concern for all bridges, given the recent hacks, and LayerZero uses its modular architecture to provide top-level security. Instead of a monolithic structure that allows for a single point of failure, LayerZero provides a modular configuration that allows projects to construct their desired security stack. In other words, the security level of a dApp will depend on the application itself, not the underlying bridge.
Thus, the integration between LayerZero and Nautilus Chain is natural, given that both use modular architectures to push the boundaries of blockchain capabilities. LayerZero’s omni-chain capability and security are essential to bringing Nautilus’ scalability and speed to the real world, helping projects like PoseiSwap take on ambitious projects like tokenizing real-world assets as NFTs.
Why LayerZero
LayerZero distinguishes itself from other bridges with its omni-chain vision, aiming to seamlessly connect different blockchains. Its modular structure means the core protocol can remain the same even as it deploys on new chains, making integrations fast and efficient. But there are additional reasons why we decided to integrate with LayerZero.
As a general-purpose protocol, LayerZero transmits more than assets through cross-chain messaging. LayerZero deploys an endpoint on connected chains, running Ultra Light Nodes that allow for generic messages to be passed between chains. This system saves costs and makes LayerZero a perfect versatile bridge for Nautilus, which also seeks broader Web3 interoperability and connectivity.
Unlike other interoperability solutions, LayerZero focuses on tackling liquidity fragmentation. By providing true interoperability, LayerZero allows for the seamless transfer of native assets across chains through their omnichain fungible token (OFT) standard. This approach enhances liquidity and provides a much better experience for users, making networks much more effective and efficient.

About Nautilus
Nautilus Chain is the first production-ready modular chain in Web3. Through its modular architecture, Nautilus combines the speed of Solana with the decentralization and security of Ethereum to become the fastest EVM chain available, capable of parallel transaction processing.
Developers can use Nautilus to build next-generation payment dApps capable of real-time settlement. Nautilus provides Solidity developers with the efficiency and customization to build dApps that wouldn’t be possible on other EVM foundations.
With Nautilus, Web3 technology will have the reliability and scalability needed to replace traditional payment rails worldwide.
